2020: let’s bless and release it to ensure our good for 2021.
2020 becomes 2021. Happiest New Year Greetings!
There’s something about the old metaphysical practice of blessing and caring for an old pair of shoes to attract a new pair that makes an appropriate analogy to ponder as we near 2020’s end. Because, despite outer distractions, the heavens offered its own rare display that seemed to bless our determination to ‘make lemonade’.
That seal of approbation came only last week when Solstice brought, with its emergence, more than a symbolic power to light the culmination of 2020. Might it have marked the displacement of 2020’s long dark night? It was as though answering our own prayerful refutation of a darkness imposed by certain restrictions that tried to cloud humanity’s perception of reality.
That heavenly promise became visible to the world as a double-star surprise.
The night sky, viewed from my backyard, wasn’t cloudless on December 21, 2020. But enough wind revealed, at least for the hour of my star-gazing meditation, the blazing light of a spectacular Saturn conjunct Jupiter.
I saw it as though the same star that guided the Three Wise Men had come again to show us how to circumvent the laggard illusion that ever tries to block the holy mission. I say ‘illusion’ not to deny or negate the effects of such negativity on our personal lives, but because nothing can prevent the Christ awareness from receiving God’s gifts of love (frankincense), wisdom (gold) and power (myrrh).
As we accept and merge with that pure Mind, we are most empowered by the indwelling jewels.
How will these gifts of the heart manifest?
They will take us along the three-month sinewave of Solstice power that began on that magical evening, and will culminate with Equinox.
Consider how Solstice begins its impulse to prepare us and the earth for our annual celebration of the coming Equinox joy of regeneration. It blankets us in a quiet alchemy that, with its recent double-star message, promises to move us beyond the confines of the magician’s sleight-of-hand parlor tricks. That confirmation is sure because, no matter how clever the ruse, the absurdity of the world’s overreach for power can never disturb what we hold firmly in our highest mental vehicles.
Our test, as we enter this divine alchemy, is to throw off the shackles of the laggards’ ill-conceived persuasion. And we do that by exercising the power of divine refutation of such audacity, and by persevering in the sacred labor of spiritual practice, as well as excel in the physical work of God’s heart, head and hand through us.
But what if we have little or no work, or income?
When employment possibilities or availability of funds seem taken from us, we have the opportunity to prepare our consciousness to create an improved version of the old, or something entirely new. One way is to act as though we’re being paid for everything we do, from the mundane task to the spiritual aspiration. That’s a little-known yet potent secret of alchemy.
We have the promise and the power of Solstice itself to manifest the miracle. Solstice power. With impetus from the rare, total conjunct. Of Jupiter energy of God-fortune with the Saturn power of God-control. All that stays with us for the first quarter of 2021.
These final hours of the year, then, provide a rare opportunity.
Now and in the first days of the New Year is a good time to take a mini-retreat. To consider our past choices. And those we can begin to create now, in consciousness. We can then take the fruit of that introspection to the drawing board of manifestation, and map out 2021.
We succeed in such planning when it reflects the wise balance we wish to create. When we prioritize. And when we block our calendar. Then we can later schedule those things that can realistically fit into the important areas of our life. Making room for what gives us joy, meaning, recreation, and fulfillment.
Finally, if we really wish to honor what our heart tells us to do, we must actually carry out our plan. We do this daily. During our evening’s reflection of our 2021 plan, we reflect on our day. What we’ve done, and what we can best do next. Asking, “Which three steps of one of the actions of my plan shall I focus on tomorrow?
In this way and by increments, we avoid ‘swallowing the whole elephant.’ In fact, let’s break the year in quarters. So this planning retreat is easy. We plan just this first quarter of 2021. Now that’s taking ‘one bite of the elephant at a time’.
Prayer to bless and release the year 2020:
In the name and by the power of the Light most holy, I call in blessings. Of this turning of the year. For you, me and all our family of God. Let us each transcend the tumultuous events of 2020 with love and mercy, yet include the good it brought. For the jewel of the diamond is often disguised through the difficulty of the coal’s alchemy. May this birthing of new courage make us stronger than we knew possible.
With you in divine oneness,
Rev. Donna
